What FilmKitchen does and doesn't do with your data

Overview

FilmKitchen is built to work with your photos and your camera directly on your device. This policy explains what the app accesses, what it doesn't, and where things are stored. If anything here is unclear, contact us at the email address at the bottom of this page.

What we don't collect

FilmKitchen does not collect, transmit, or store your photos, RAW files, or camera data on any server we operate. We don't require an account or sign-in, and we don't track you across other apps or websites. There are no ads and no ad-tracking SDKs in this app.

Device permissions we request, and why

• Photo Library access — used to save recipe-processed images back to your Photos library once your camera has finished generating them. FilmKitchen only writes the images you choose to save; it doesn't scan or read the rest of your photo library.
• Camera accessory / USB-C connection — used to detect and communicate with a connected Fujifilm camera, send recipe parameters to it, and receive the processed image back. This connection is local, directly between your device and your camera, and doesn't pass through any server of ours.
• Files access — used only when you choose to import a RAW file you've already offloaded to your device, so you can apply a recipe to it the same way as a camera-connected file.

iOS will prompt you for each of these permissions the first time they're needed, and you can review or revoke them at any time in your device's Settings app.

Local data storage

Your saved recipes, custom recipe settings, and library organization are stored locally on your device. If you delete FilmKitchen, this data is removed along with it. We don't keep a copy anywhere else.

Recipe library and network use

FilmKitchen may connect to the internet to load or update the shared catalog of film simulation recipes available to browse and compare in the app. This connection retrieves recipe data only; it does not send your photos, camera information, or any personal data as part of that request.

Third-party services

FilmKitchen does not currently integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services. If that changes in a future update, we'll update this policy first and describe what's added and why.

Children's privacy

FilmKitchen is not directed at children and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone, regardless of age, since we don't operate a server that collects personal data in the first place.

Your rights

Because FilmKitchen doesn't collect or store personal data on our servers, there's generally no personal data held by us to access, correct, or delete on request. If you have questions about this, including under GDPR, CCPA, or a similar law that applies to you, reach out using the contact info below and we'll do our best to help.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and, for any meaningful change in what the app accesses or how it's used, note it in the app's release notes as well.
